Art at The Duxiana
We are happy to host an exhibition by the nomad gallery CG Gallery at The DUXIANA. CG Gallery is a private nomad gallery founded in 2019 by Arjumand "Aje" Carlstein and Lina Gasparaviciute.
The exhibition is called "As above so also below" (in Swedish "Så som och ovan så och nedan") and the artists featured are Martin Holm and Adrián Espinós Ferrero.
The exhibition is on display from January 17 until February 20 and is open to the public.
More about the artists
Born 1985 in Köping, Sweden. BFA from Cambridge School of Art (UK) and MFA from Akademin Valand in Gothenburg. The artist is currently active in Gothenburg.
Martin Holm explores ways into alternative spaces where events are not necessarily bound by time, the laws of physics, geometric perspectives or social constructions. In his artistry, he plays with the relationship between the spiritual and the worldly, the natural and the fabricated. His painting is a studio-based exploration through popular culture, art history references and philosophy - a multidisciplinary attempt to make sense of contemporary chaos.
Adrián Espinós Ferrero
Born 1985 in Alicante, Spain. BFA from the University of Fine Arts in Barcelona and MFA from the University of Fine Arts in Umeå. The artist is currently active in Malmö.
Adrián Espinós Ferrero examines the boundaries between the artificial and the natural in his artistry. He often finds inspiration in nature's various transformation processes, patterns and structures. In a series of works on plexiglass, the artist depicts the hidden life under the sea surface - a rare underwater world in constant change, as a result of man's impact on the climate.
CG Gallery is a private nomad gallery founded in 2019 by Arjumand "Aje" Carlstein and Lina Gasparaviciute.
Since the beginning, the focus has been on different material expressions and exploring the interface between contemporary art and contemporary crafts. The gallery primarily invests in local artists who are at the beginning of their careers. At the same time, the vision is to reach a wider audience with unique contemporary art.
Starting from 2023, CG Gallery is run by Aje Carlstein with Fredric Holst as the new gallery partner. Malmö is still the base for the gallery.
