The DUXIANA x Falsterbo Photo Art Museum
Photo art exhibition at The DUXIANA
The DUXIANA and Falsterbo Photo Art Museum have established a collaboration that commences in connection with the Gallery Weekend in Malmö in September. The exhibition is on display until October 23 and is open to the public.
Behind the Falsterbo Photo Art Museum are Claes and Christina Lindquist, who over two decades have built up a large, private, photo collection of famous photographers, which forms the basis for the museum's exhibitions.
The museum, located in Falsterbo Strandbad, houses a completely unique collection of photographic art, mainly fashion photography, with approximately 450 original photographs. The exhibition brings together big international names from the world of photography such as Richard Avedon, Steven Klein and Helmut Newton. Famous Swedish names are also represented in approx. 70 original photographs signed by, among others, Julia Hetta, Mikael Jansson, Johan Lindeberg, Camilla Åkrans and Per-Anders Pettersson.
The DUXIANA today offers, in addition to a well-established business lunch, full á la carte evening hours and a lobby bar. Jazz evenings and wine quizzes mix with art and objets d'art which is a mix of vintage furniture classics from Thonet, Knoll and DUX as well as Per Ola Andersson and Madeleine Pyk mixing with Marek Braun and Al Eklund on the walls. Larger collaborations, events and artist performances are in the autumn repertoire.
Maria Putak, General Manager of The DUXIANA.
"Being able to join hands with a party that is as passionate about art, design and culture as we are, in a relaxed environment for socializing, makes us extremely happy. In addition, being able to spread the word about what a strong destination Falsterbo Photo Art Museum, with a world-class collection, is, we see as important for the region and the hospitality industry."
Christina Lindquist, owner and founder of Falsterbo Photo Art Museum.
"DUX represents timeless design and good quality and we have been proud DUX owners for many years. The combination of our two brands and our common audience is very natural and obvious."
